Journey Exchange was a Large Community project in October 2021 exploring stories of travel, journeys we made, and those we would hope to make again one day. This was a co-created community intergenerational performance based on stories about physical and metaphorical journeys using Verbatim Theatre techniques and Aerial Circus, led by POTC’s Shaena Brandel and Selina Keedwell from Somerset Youth Theatre.
The project was funded by Take Art & Seed Sedgemoor, and involved the participation of residents from Highbridge and Burnham-on-Sea. The co-creation workshops were held over a number of weekends before working with visiting outdoor performance artists from across Europe taking part on the RIOTE project, which culminated in a sharing weekend and curtain-raising performance by the community, RIOTE and Pirates of the Carabina on the Moorlands Estate in Highbridge.
